June 2nd is National Cancer Survivors Day - a great time to celebrate the lives of cherished family and friends who have survived and continue to fight against the second leading cause of death in America.
The National Cancer Institute estimated in a recent study that nearly 12 million Americans with a history of cancer are still living - some cancer-free, and others still undergoing treatment.
As a cancer survivor, I know first hand how important early detection can be, and I also know the peace of mind that comes with having insurance protection to cover the additional costs and expenses that go along with expensive cancer treatments.
As I'm sure my fellow survivors would agree, cancer doesn't just affect an individual - it affects the entire familiy. So to all survivors and caregivers, take time to celebrate your loved ones and continue to take good care of yourselves and each other.
